Course description

Long gone are the days when the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) was just about credit bureau reporting. Now it includes HR’s ability to check credit files of new hires and staff, what investigation needs to be completed if there is a dispute in what the bank has reported, and all the major components. affiliate marketing, medical information, red flags and more. But we’ll keep this webinar simple.

In this webinar we’ll discuss the basic, general requirements bankers need to know the most:

  • A familiarization of the FCRA, an overview if you will,
  • Permissible purposes to obtain credit reports,
  • Adverse action requirements,
  • Accuracy requirements (you’d be surprised at the reports some lenders make knowing they’re wrong),
  • Risk-Based pricing,
  • Handling disputes ,
  • Identity theft, and more.

We’ll talk about the daily compliance requirements keeping in mind that the FCRA touches lenders, collectors, tellers, and HR too. All these people have daily FCRA tasks and they must be done correctly. Those who handle controls and audits also need to be conversant in the FCRA so this is good for them as well.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

This webinar is designed for those needing the basic FCRA skills to deal with consumers and bank staff in accessing credit reports, handling denied products and services, reporting requirements, basic disclosure requirements and handling troublesome customer issues like disputes and ID theft claim requirements.
